Amazon has taken a further step in its connected home ecosystem with a batch of redesigned Echo devices that come with Alexa+ built-in and a host of sensors to better understand what's happening at home.
The family consists of four models —Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11— and aims for more power, contextual responses, and advanced domestic controls without making the offering too expensive.
Alexa+ takes control of the home

The new version of the assistant comes from the factory and is based on AZ3 and AZ3 Pro custom silicon to run AI models directly on the device, reducing cloud dependency and improving latency, privacy, and personalization.
The Echo also incorporates Omnisense, a multi-sensor platform which combines camera, audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometer, and wireless signal analysis. This allows Alexa+ to detect events and anticipate events: from notifying you if a door is left open to showing relevant cards when it recognizes someone in the house.
According to internal data, households with early access to Alexa+ have increased the use of the assistant and delegate more everyday tasks, such as organizing calendars, managing purchases, or controlling connected devices without explicit commands.
Echo speakers: Dot Max and Studio, more sound and more intelligence

El Echo Dot Max debuts a two-way system with a high-excursion woofer and dedicated tweeter that achieves almost three times the bass compared to the previous Dot. The internal architecture has been redesigned to integrate the speaker into the housing and gain air volume, and the AZ3 chip improves the wake word detection by more than 50%, even with ambient noise. Its price starts at $99,99.
In turn, the Echo Studio It reduces its size by around 40% compared to the original, incorporates AZ3 Pro and maintains compatibility with spatial audio and Dolby AtmosThe 3D fabric provides acoustic transparency, and the ring light adds more expressive visual responses. Priced at $219,99.
Both models can be grouped with other Echos or linked with Fire TV via Alexa Home Theater to build a surround system without complicated installation. Reservations are now open in the US, with availability expected first for Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio.
Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 displays: vision, presence, and home control

The new displays adopt in-cell touch technology and negative liquid crystal to offer better sharpness and viewing angles, with a pixel density exceeding one million. The 13 MP camera allows Alexa+ to identify who's approaching and present tailored information instantly.
In sound, they integrate stereo front speakers and a custom user-oriented woofer for more direct and immersive audio during video calls, music or content.
Both include a home hub compatible with Zigbee, Matter and Thread, allowing you to manage lights, outlets, sensors, and other devices from a single dashboard. New thematic modules are also available for entertainment, home control, family organization, and shopping.
In well-being, Alexa+ can offer Personalized suggestions in collaboration with Oura based on sleep or activity patterns. Amazon plans to add more partners in the future, while respecting its privacy standards.
Prices are set at $179,99 for Echo Show 8 and $219,99 for Echo Show 11, with active reservations and availability after the speakers are launched.
Proactivity and privacy: sensors that work in your favor

Thanks to local processing, the new Echos are capable of react in real time without constantly relying on the cloud. This way, they receive and process signals from their sensors to proactively execute useful actions.
Among the most notable examples are: contextual alerts —such as notifying that the garage is still open at certain times— or presenting cards with relevant content when a specific person is detected, all with privacy controls and user management options.
With this generation, Amazon seeks a balance between Higher quality sound, more capable displays, and a more contextual assistantThe integration of custom chips, Omnisense sensors, and Alexa+ suggests a change of pace in the connected home experience, with affordable prices and features that go beyond traditional voice control.
