The well-known Dutch company Ultimaker , through its marketing department, has just released an official press statement announcing the creation and launch of no fewer than four new materials for use in its 3D printers. With this move, the company aims to penetrate a more professional market, as these materials are not as in demand for personal or educational use, sectors where they are already established leaders.

On the other hand, as can be read in the press release, Ultimaker assured that the demand for this type of material for professional and industrial use has been growing considerably in recent months and has continued to do so, which is why they have decided to offer options beyond PLA , a material, as you surely know, that is very commonly used in private settings, especially at home.

Among the options presented by the company, the first is a new variety of CPE already marketed by Ultimaker. This variety, named CPE+ , is a co-polyester capable of withstanding temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius, offering resistance to chemical attack, and maintaining very acceptable dimensional stability.

On the other hand, and as true innovations, we find the incorporation of a polycarbonate filament that offers resistance up to 110 degrees Celsius and high hardness and machinability; a nylon filament with low sensitivity to humidity and low friction; and a polyurethane filament , an elastomer with a Shore A hardness of 95 and an elongation at break of 580%. This last material is primarily used in applications where good flexibility and chemical resistance are required, such as in footwear.
