Airbus Aerial, a new division specialized in commercial services with drones

Just yesterday we had the opportunity to talk about how many experts believe that the next big trade war will be fought in the skies, and one of the companies that had already made a move was Airbus with the creation of its new division, Airbus Aerial , which was presented to the world taking advantage of the company's presence at the AUVSI Xponential trade fair and conference held in Dallas.

Since we couldn't go into much detail about Airbus Aerial's objectives in that previous post, today I wanted to explain in more detail what this new division will be doing. At least for now, it will have offices in the United States and Europe and, as has been confirmed, will focus on developing new imaging services.

Airbus Aerial comes to offer commercially the vision of the future that Airbus itself has in the world of drones.

Going into more detail, Airbus's proposal involves developing new, state-of-the-art software that can utilize the most advanced aerospace technology from around the world to provide all types of clients with useful data while simultaneously performing information analysis. All this data will be collected by drones, satellites, high-altitude aircraft, and other sources.

As stated by Dirk Hoke , CEO of Airbus Defence and Space:

With Airbus Aerial we are uniquely positioned to fully support the development of the commercial unmanned aerial systems sector. The company brings together partners from different sectors of the sector such as vehicle manufacturers, data analysis companies, service providers and others, to offer services focused on large-scale data.

Airbus Aerial will use the integrated mix of equipment, from UAS platforms to satellite imagery, with the aim of deploying a wide range of new image-based services. In the future, Airbus Aerial activities will be complemented by transport drone services and will provide connectivity by means of aerial equipment.
