More than a year ago we saw a totally new and powerful SBC board that not only had an Intel processor but also allowed us to install a version of Windows 10 and be fully functional, something that we cannot do on other boards recognized by Microsoft itself. like Raspberry Pi.
This board is called LattePanda, and it's been updated, or so the company behind it, DFRobot, has told us. LattePanda Delta is the name of the second version of this board , a more powerful model that will be able to run the latest versions of Windows 10, or at least that's what the folks at DFRobot say.
LattePanda Delta is an improved version that features an Intel N3350 processor and 2 GB of RAM in the basic version, and a Core M3 7Y30 with 8 GB of DDR3 and 64 GB of eMMC in the more premium version, allowing it to run any Gnu/Linux distribution as well as Windows 10 correctly.
In addition to this hardware, the LattePanda Delta includes an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, an 80-pin GPIO header, an Intel 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, three USB 3.0 ports, and a USB Type-C port. As with the first version, the LattePanda Delta contains an Atmega32u4 coprocessor, enabling the typical Arduino board functionality.
DFRobot has opted for the same approach as with its first board, so the LattePanda Delta will initially launch as a crowdfunding campaign before being available for purchase in stores. This new single-board computer (SBC) will cost approximately $200, a slightly high price but justified considering its ability to run Windows 10 and any Linux distribution without the need for hacks or software modifications. Currently, there are no details regarding the campaign, but DFRobot will keep us updated on the latest developments through their blog.
