SolidRun Hailo-15 SOM: new module with AI vision processor up to 20 TOPS

SolidRun Halio-15

Last year, SolidRun introduced its Hailo-15 machine vision processor, based on a Cortex-A53 quad-core processing chip and capable of delivering up to 20 TOPS for AI.. Recently, SolidRun has launched a SOM module that incorporates this SoC, along with up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB of eMMC storage, as well as support for two cameras and an H.265/4 video encoder.

This is not the first SOM launched by SolidRun, which has previously introduced other models such as the RZ/G2LC SOM and LX2-Lite SOM, as well as a ClearFog LX2-Lite development board and a COM Express module based on the Ryzen series. V3000. The new Hailo-15 module will be available in two variants:

  • Hailo-15M, with 11 TOPS of computing power.
  • Hailo-15H, which reaches 20 TOPS.

This module also has a image signal processor (ISP) 12 megapixel with an H.264/H.265 hardware encoder and HDR support, and can capture images up to 4k30 thanks to the Sony IMX334 and IMX678 image sensors.

As to OS support, the module offers extensive Linux-based software support, including a dataflow compiler and a library of deep learning examples and applications. It supports leading machine learning frameworks such as Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX, and ships with a Yocto-based Linux distribution.

SolidRun will offer this device for a starting price of $149, depending on the model and specifications chosen… For more information you can consult its official website.
